The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) funds work which  lowers families’ heating and electrical bills, improves heating and lighting, and provides new windows and refrigerators. The program is also an important source of jobs for the community.

In 2011, the funding of the Program tripled and the CHJCC was recognized as one of the top performing agencies in the State, receiving State level recognition for quality. CHJCC was authorized to receive an additional $2.5MM of funding that brought even more benefit to the community. In the last year more families’ quality of life was improved and more jobs have been created than in any of the previous thirty years.  2013 is a low funding year for WAP, but in the future CHJCC  is looking at ways to bring the same benefits it has brought to multi-family dwellings to residents living in single family homes.
