Bikur Cholim
Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Bikur Cholim of Crown Heights is a volunteer-based organization that provides support for the needs of the medically distressed in the Crown Heights community. They are committed to assume a meaningful role in a patient’s recovery with kindness, compassion, and utmost regard for privacy, as guided by halacha.
They offer essential and timely services that assists patients and their families by:
- Arranging transportation to and from doctor appointments and hospitals;
- Organizing home and hospital visitation, including respite services;
- Preparing and delivering kosher meals for families of the ill;
- Offering financial relief to those in need;
- Facilitating access to a comprehensive database of medical and support services;
- Assisting new mothers with both the material and emotional adjustment to their newborn;
- Connecting patients to existing community, state and Greater NY Jewish Medical support services; and
- Arranging educational programs focusing on well being, healthy lifestyle habits and prevention.
